Batteries let providers buy electricity when it's cheap then resell it to you at a 30x markup.
And they're going to continue raising the price you pay to increase their profit.

Array’s batteries last for 25+ years. Unlike the Lithium Ion batteries in TVs, these Gen 3 LiFePo batteries are third generation and designed to be used every day for decades. Though heavier, LiFePO batteries are perfect for home applications since they are safer, can be charged and discharged fully, and last longer. Our warranty covers you for 15 years, 5 times the estimated time to pay back the battery pack through electricity savings, so you’re covered! We also cover capacity drop, which most other providers will not.You can also purchase an additional 10 years of coverage from us at any point before your warranty expires.
Yes! The battery chemistry we use is designed to be even safer than most batteries. This means they’ll last years without any need for maintenance and no risk of fire or breakdown.
Yes! We can scale up the system to work with multiple AC units, or build you a system that will last for up to 7 days.
The batteries are typically installed next to your breaker panel. Our batteries can be installed indoors or outdoors. Our batteries are 2.5ft by 3ft by 1ft, and each install usually uses 2 batteries.
1-2 hours! Battery backups are extremely easy to install, and can be done quickly. Once purchased, the permitting process takes 1-3 weeks. Array will give you 3 different, 3 hour windows for install, and can be done without anyone at home.
Array is built by a team that specialize in engineering and real estate design. The founder is as Texan as they get: Houston born, A&M researcher, graduate of engineering from UT-Austin. The system was designed after the winter freeze kept his community without power for 5 days. With their health at risk, a solution was needed. A team was formed, a product was meticulously designed and tested, and Array was founded to help Texans have access to lower cost energy and affordable backup power.
Array can provide roughly 3 days of backup power. This assumes you use 2 fridges, lights in 2 rooms, charge your phones, and run your AC for 4 to 8 hours a day. We find that our customers use their AC for 6 hours a day to keep the house cool on the hottest days- 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening.
You can also purchase an additional 1.5 days of backup power for an additional $2,000 through the purchase of additional packs.
Yes you can, but we do not recommend adding solar for most people. The cost of grid scale power generation is extremely low, which means it’s better to buy power from the grid. It’s cheaper to build a massive solar plant than to put solar on your roof, as the permitting and added install costs are expensive. However, we do offer a solar housing for our battery packs that extend the life of your battery packs when the power is out. This is a great option if you want coverage for power outages lasting longer than 3 days.

Ever wonder why a power company wants to offer free power at night? That would be like Pizza Hut offering free pizza at night. Power companies offer free nights because at night, power cost drop to 1/20th of what they are during the day. Wind power is continuously produced, but demand for power falls, which is why the electricity becomes so cheap. The grid can’t store power, so if the producers don’t get rid of it, they have to throw it out like expired pizza ingredients. So they’re willing to sell that electricity at ridiculously low rates-sometimes they even pay people to take it off their hands.
The power companies love offering free nights, because they charge you double what you’d normally pay during the day. Even if they offer you free nights, they make way more money off you.
Our batteries let you take advantage of the reduced electricity rates, just like the power companies. You can charge them at night while the power is free or extremely cheap, and use the power throughout the day.
The average home in Texas uses 50 kWh of electricity every day. 65% or 32 kWh of that energy is used during the day between 6AM-8PM, and the remaining 35% or 18 kWh is used at night between 8PM-5:59AM.
Our standard 32kWh pack was designed for exactly this, as it can be charged to 100% at night for free, and discharged throughout the day-saving home owners $8-12 each day or $300 a month on average.
Array has a number of electricity plans that can pair with your system to help you unlock these savings!
For larger homes, who use 100 kWh on average, we can easily expand the system to 64 kWh in capacity.
